Philip Stewart Portrait

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and to find out a little more about me, the photographer behind the lens. I’m Philip Stewart, a Scottish, professional photographer living in Edinburgh. My interest in photography was sparked in my teens after being introduced to film photography by my father and completing a short photography course at college. In my early twenties, I purchased my first DSLR camera and for over a decade since, I have been honing my craft specialising in landscape, nature, and property photography.

Since 2012, I have worked as a professional photographer within the property market allowing me to make a career out of doing what I love. My family have always been involved in property and architecture and over the years I have followed suit with an obsessive interest in all things related to them. Whether it’s a cosy little studio flat in the city or a grand period property in the countryside, I love getting to view and capture all the different styles of buildings and the interiors they have been designed with.

When I’m not capturing the indoors, it is through my love for the great outdoors and nature that I find my greatest inspiration. Without doubt, my favourite time of day to get out and photograph is dawn. The feeling of tranqulity and solitude in the early hours of the morning can’t be beaten. I enjoy and take pride in the extra effort required to get out to locations at times when most are sleeping. It means I get to witness amazing sights when the light and atmosphere is at its prime and share these moments in time with others around the world through my photography.

My images have featured in magazines, books, calendars and exhibitions, and I have won awards and commendations in a number of national competitions.
